Maha Shuaib is Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge, and holds the British Academy Dual Chair for Education in Conflict Areas. She has been Director of the Center for Lebanese Studies since 2012. Before that, she was a Senior Fellow at St Anthony’s College, University of Oxford. She holds a doctorate in education from the University of Cambridge. She is a founding member and former president of the Lebanese Historical Society, as well as a co-founder of the Disability Axis, a collective initiative that seeks to promote research and advocacy in the field of disability in the Arab world. <\/p>\n
Professor Shuaib’s research focuses on the sociology and policy of education, in particular issues of equity and equality in education, and the implications of inequality for marginalized groups such as refugee children and people with disabilities. Her research interests also address school curricula and educational reform in Lebanon.
